Restaurant El Marcos Nogales
About This Spot
Stepping into Restaurant El Marcos Nogales feels like slipping into a warm, inviting corner of Sonora where the vibrant pulse of Mexican flavors meets the comfort of a neighborhood gathering spot. Nestled on a quiet boulevard, the space carries a calm yet lively energy — a place where the day’s pace slows just enough to savor not only the food but the company and surroundings.
The interior offers a charming blend of rustic touches and open, airy seating, including an upstairs balcony that invites you to linger over conversation while soaking in the rhythms of soft rock and pop melodies. It’s the kind of environment where servers move with genuine care, attentive without hovering, making every guest feel naturally at home.
Here, the heart of the experience lies in the kitchen and the table’s center, where fresh salsas are crafted before your eyes and the aroma of grilled meats and seafood gently fills the air. It’s less about ticking off menu items and more about moments shared over thoughtfully prepared dishes — from tender steaks and succulent seafood to bites that carry the subtle tang of Sonoran tradition. Each plate arrives with a sense of purpose and warmth, inviting diners to explore the region’s rich culinary tapestry through flavors that stay with you long after the last forkful.
Whether you’re dropping by after a busy day or celebrating a special occasion, El Marcos balances the ease of a local bar and grill with the attentive touch of a treasured community spot. Its proximity to key landmarks lends it an accessible charm, yet it’s the quiet moments of connection — between people, place, and palate — that truly define the experience here.

I have a list of Restaurant Bars in Nogales I want to visit. The decor is nice, being able to sit upstairs in a balcony setting, even though the music is in English it was a good playlist, soft rock/pop, food was good but the Service was great! We had the waiter and two other helpers check in on us.

What a beautiful restaurant. The food was fantastic, with the great Mexican seafood leading the way. A first class restaurant with outstanding service. What a joy to celebrate All Saints Day at El Marcos.

Fantastic restaurant! Everything we tried was really delicious! The presentation is also great with the salsa made to your preference beside the table.

Amazing food and quick service. They make salsa right infront you and the interior setup is really good. Location is very near to Fairfield hotel and US consulate.

Live Salsa making, some kind of soup, the beef tacos, and seafood plate were the best options that we tried and totally worth it. I was visiting with a friend for the US visa and we randomly tried this place which was right next to the Nogales mall. As I was busy with work, I didn’t get a chance to try other options but next time for sure. Staff is friendly and can speak good English. The interior is just like any traditional Mexican movie. If visiting Nogales, I definitely recommend visiting.

Awesome atmosphere, service was great, and the food was delicious. I got the A La Parilla Sonorense. The chile relleno was great and the meat and frijoles charros delicious. My wife got the shrimp tequila which was also fantastic. Definatly coming back when we go to Nogales again.

LOVED this place. Originally I wanted the rib eye but went with Arrachera Sonorense. I also got the Queso Cilantro. The Arrachera was DELICIOUS. The queso was super good too. The salsa is also made to order when you first get there AND they ask what level of spice you like which was great since I can't handle too much spice. It's a super cute restaurant too. Overall if I'm ever in Nogales again I'll definitely be going back

Crowded place but worth it. They give you a courtesy shrimp soup shot and the meat is just as good as advertised. As appetizer, ask for the queso fundido with chorizo Try the mango cake too!
